On January 1, 1935, J. J. Krebs, Sr. established a land surveying and engineering business in New Orleans. Although Mr. Krebs was an proficient engineer, his first love was land surveying.  In the early years of the firm both engineering and surveying services were provided, and there was an emphasis on land surveying services.

Krebs, LaSalle, LeMieux PartnersJohn M. Krebs joined his father in the firm's partnership in January 1948, and in the 1950's Joseph J. Krebs, Jr. and Guy F. LeMieux joined the partnership that formed J. J. Krebs & Son.  The New Orleans region saw considerable growth in the late 1950's and early 1960's.  Under the direction of Joseph Krebs and Guy LeMieux the firm began to focus on land planning services to meet the needs of land development clients. On April 1, 1965, Shelby P. LaSalle, Jr. joined the firm full-time to enhance the practices of land development, planning, designing and public works projects.

After J. J. Krebs, Sr. passed away in 1970, John Krebs became Chairman, Joe Krebs became company President and Chief Executive Officer, Guy F. LeMieux became Executive Vice President and Shelby P. LaSalle, Jr. became Vice President.

With the passing of John Krebs in 1977, the management of the company became the responsibility of Joe Krebs and Guy LeMieux with Shelby P. LaSalle, Jr. as Executive Vice President. Surveying remained and a vital portion of the business of J. J. Krebs & Sons, Inc., but the engineering work received greater emphasis and over the ensuing years, J. J. Krebs & Sons, Inc. rose to a position of being the primary supplier of land surveying, engineering services and environmental permitting for land development in the Metropolitan New Orleans area.

On December 31, 1996, Joseph J. Krebs, Jr. retired. Guy F. LeMieux retired in 1999.  On January 1, 1994, Krebs, LaSalle, LeMieux Consultants, Inc. was formed to answer the needs of the new millennium. This new corporation was created to provide a new structure for the next century.
